Los Angeles, California

It took six hours to drive from San Francisco to Los Angeles on one of the hottest days of summer. In your own car with air conditioning, drinks and snacks - the time goes very smoothly. We talked and observed the cows and trucks. Saw a few accidents - one in which a car got stuck side-ways on the center divider.

A Southern California tradition - we ate at In-N-Out Burger. These are incredibly clean hamburger places that only serve a few things! But they do everything so fresh that there are always long lines.

Los Angeles is always smoggy and heavy traffic but interesting. There are so many cars and I've never seen so many stretch limousines! Staying at a suites hotel which is full - no more rooms. People pay $150-180USD a night for two rooms/two baths and breakfast.

Picked up dinner at The Loft Hawaiian Restaurant, South Bay, 23305 Hawthorne Boulevard, Torrance, California 90505, United States, Tel: 310-375-4051. Famous Hawaiian food since 2000. It's Japanese-American owned and has a Hawaiian surfer theme and the customers picking up food were all dressed in shorts and slippers.
