Chiang Mai, Thailand - Hotels and Car Rental
The Northern part of Thailand in Chiang Mai is a cultural hub of the old Lanna Kingdom encompassing their dialect, dancing, handicrafts, housing style and flair. It's the second largest city in Thailand but is so much more relaxing than Bangkok and not nearly as large. The city has the most temples per square mile than any other place in Thailand.
I can highly recommend this car rental company, which will meet you outside the arrival hall (either curbside or across the street in the parking lot). You can also make plans to deliver the car back at the airport. A car is useful as there aren't taxis in Chiang Mai (just get in the back of the red pick-up trucks) and you can drive around as you please - especially to Fang, Chiang Rai, Lampung, Lampang and to Mae Sai/Tachilek if you'd like to walk over the border to Burma.
